What happens after you get in touch

The most common complaint about this trade is that nobody rings back. Here is exactly how ours goes.

  1. 1

We get back to you the same business day

Enquiries in before mid-afternoon on a weekday get a reply that day. Later ones, or weekends, are picked up the next working morning. If we are on a machine when you ring, we call you back — we are not going to let it sit.

  2. 2

We work out whether we need to see it

A standard mow we can usually price from your description and a couple of photos. Anything with a slope, a big hedge, an overgrown reset or an acreage block, we come and look. Site visits are free, with no obligation attached.

  3. 3

You get a written quote with the scope on it

Not a number over the phone you have to remember. A written quote setting out what is included, what is seasonal, and what would be charged separately — fixed before we start.

  4. 4

You approve it, then we book you in

Nothing happens until you say yes. Then you get a start date, a regular day and the same crew each visit. If it stops working for you, pause or stop — there is nothing to get out of.

Speed it up

Have this handy and we can price it faster

None of it is essential — ring us with nothing at all and we will still help. But these four things are what turn a two-day back and forth into a same-day answer.

The address

Street and suburb is enough. It tells us the ground, the access and which route you are on — all of which move the price.

Rough section size

Courtyard, standard, large, or quarter acre and up. You do not need square metres. “About the same as next door” works.

A couple of photos

The single most useful thing you can send. One from the street and one of the back is usually enough to price a job properly.

Access notes

Locked gate, a dog, narrow side path, no vehicle access to the back. These change the job more than people expect, so tell us up front.

Hours and reply times

We are outdoors most of the day, so the phone is not always answered on the first ring. It does always get returned.

Monday – FridayOn site and answering the phone7am – 6pm
SaturdayOn site, reduced crew8am – 4pm
SundayClosed — messages picked up MondayClosed
Quote enquiriesForm, email or text, any timeSame business day

If you ring during the day and get voicemail, it means we are on a machine or up a ladder. Leave a message or send a text with your address and we will call you back — usually within the hour, always the same working day. Bad weather is the one thing that shifts a booked visit; mowing a saturated lawn tears the grass and leaves ruts, so we move it to the next suitable day and tell you.

Already a customer?

Not after a new quote

Plenty of people who contact us are not asking for a price. Here is where each of these goes.

01

Change, skip or pause a visit

Text or ring — a text is easiest and there is no need to explain yourself. Going away, having a party, or want to skip one because it has been dry? Fine. Plenty of people pause over winter and pick back up in spring, and that costs nothing.

02

Invoices and payments

Email is best for anything to do with billing, so there is a written trail on both sides. If something on an invoice does not look right, tell us before you pay it rather than after — it is far easier to fix that way and we would rather know.

03

Something went wrong

Ring us. Not a review, not a complaint form — just ring, and we will come back and sort it. We would much rather hear it from you than read it later, and we will not argue about a legitimate problem. Getting it right is cheaper for us than losing the customer.

04

Working with us

We take on crew as the routes grow. If you have experience, a clean licence and you turn up when you say you will, email us with a bit about yourself. No formal application, no closing date — we read everything that comes in.

Property managers and commercial sites

Different conversation, so it goes to a different process. For rental portfolios we can consolidate several properties onto one monthly invoice by address, with dated before and after photos on every clean-up.

For commercial grounds we quote an annual programme rather than per visit — written scope, site-specific safety plan, current public liability certificate, and equal monthly invoicing so the grounds line in your budget does not move through the year. Email us and we will arrange a site walk.

There’s no address to visit

Lawnify is a mobile service. We do not run a yard or a shopfront you can call into — the crew, the gear and the trailer come to your property instead, which is why we can cover twelve areas rather than one suburb.

So if you are looking for somewhere to drop in, there is not one. Ring, text, email or use the form and we will come to you. Quotes and site visits are free either way.

The details

Who you’re dealing with

Straightforward, and worth knowing before you let anyone onto your property.

Locally owned

Lawnify is the lawn and garden arm of At Your Service Limited, based in Tauranga. The people who quote your property are the people who turn up to it.

Fully insured

Full public liability on every job, residential and commercial — and we hand over a current certificate without being asked twice.

Police vetted crew

Everyone we send onto your property, home or business, has passed a police check first. No exceptions, no new faces you have not been told about.

The same crew

Whoever is on your section this fortnight is who was there last fortnight. Nothing on the invoice that was not on the quote, either.

Follow along

Rang on a Tuesday morning, had a written quote back before dinner, and they were on the section that Friday. After three other outfits never called me back at all, that on its own was worth it.

FAQs

Before you get in touch

The questions people ask us before they pick up the phone.

How quickly will you get back to me?

The same business day. Enquiries that come in before mid-afternoon on a weekday get a reply that day; anything later or over a weekend is picked up the next working morning. If you ring and get voicemail it means we are on a machine, so leave a message or send a text with your address and we will call back — usually within the hour.

Does a quote cost anything?

No. Quotes are free, site visits are free, and there is no obligation attached to either. We would rather come and look at an awkward property and lose the job than give you a number over the phone that changes on the day.

Do I need to be home for the quote, or for the work?

For neither, usually. We can quote from photos and a description on most standard sections, and for a site visit we just need to be able to get onto the property. Once you are booked in, you do not need to be there at all — just let us know about locked gates, dogs or anything we should leave alone.

Can I just get a price over the phone?

For a straightforward mow on an ordinary section, often yes — and we will give you a realistic range on the spot. What we will not do is commit to a firm number for a hedge reduction, an overgrown reset or an acreage block without seeing it, because the honest answer depends on things you cannot describe down a phone. Send two photos and that usually solves it.

Is there GST on top of the quote?

No. We are not currently GST registered, so nothing is added. The quoted figure includes green waste disposal and is fixed before we start — what you approve is what you pay.
