Get the slot booked
Growth takes off from late October and does not ease until autumn. A fortnightly or weekly slot locked in before then keeps you in maintenance. Book a schedule before the rush and you stay in maintenance all season.
From the coastal sand at Pāpāmoa to the orchard country out past Te Puke, every area runs on its own scheduled route. You get a price built on your section, not a regional average.
Tell us where you are and we’ll price it properly.
Every service runs in every area we cover. Book one, or have the whole property done on the same visit and get a single invoice.
What each job starts at. Same rates whether you are on the coast or out in the Western Bay.
Starting prices, the same across every area we cover. What you pay depends on the section itself — you get the exact number before anything is booked.
The same five steps whether it is one overdue tidy-up or a standing slot through the season.
If the job turns out bigger than it looked from the gate, we stop and tell you what that changes before carrying on. That might be a hedge with three years in it, or a section that needs topping before it can be mown.
Four different ground types across the Bay of Plenty. Here is what each one changes about the work — and what it costs.
Coastal sand — Pāpāmoa, Mount Maunganui. Drains in minutes and holds almost nothing, so these lawns go hungry before they go dry. We put them on a lighter, more frequent feed rather than one big hit. That is weed control and fertilisation on a programme, not a one-off.
Heavy river flat — Bethlehem, Welcome Bay. Stays soft well into spring. We bring lighter gear onto these sections so the lawn is not rutted while the ground is wet, and hold the heavy work until it firms up.
Volcanic ash — Te Puna, Te Puke, Ōmokoroa. Grows everything at speed, including the thatch sitting under the lawn. These sections usually want dethatching once a year, and a tighter mowing interval through summer.
New-build fill — Pyes Pā, Tauriko. Compacted by the build, so water sits on it and roots struggle. A new lawn here needs the ground broken up and levelled before anything is laid — skip that and it fails in the first dry spell.
Each has its own page with the local ground conditions, what it costs there and how the year runs.
Each of these runs as a scheduled route, which is what keeps travel out of the price. We do work further out — see below.
The areas above are the core of what we run, but we regularly work further out too. If you’re near one of these, it’s worth asking.
These aren’t on a fixed schedule the way the areas above are, so a job out here is priced individually and may carry a small travel component. Ring or use the form above and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works for us.
How often the crew comes, and what is worth adding at each point of the year.
Growth takes off from late October and does not ease until autumn. A fortnightly or weekly slot locked in before then keeps you in maintenance. Book a schedule before the rush and you stay in maintenance all season.
Soil still warm, air cooler, rain reliable. Dethatching, a feed, hedge and tree reductions and mulch onto the beds. Booked together, the crew does them in one run.
Our quietest stretch, so a large job gets proper time on it instead of being squeezed between mows. The right stretch for section clean-ups and stump grinding.
Peak growth and peak dryness together. We move you to weekly and lift the mowing height so the lawn holds through the dry. Away for a few weeks? The visits keep running.
Three of the areas we cover sit outside Tauranga City. It changes nothing about what you pay.
These three sit outside Tauranga City, under their own council, with their own rules and their own disposal sites.
We still run them on a fixed route rather than as call-outs, which is what makes a flat price possible that far out. The number you are quoted is the number you pay, whichever side of the line you are on.
Everything we cut goes with us, on both sides of the council line, and the disposal is already in your quote.
What we cannot take is anything needing licensed disposal — asbestos, paint, garden chemicals, gas bottles. We will point you at the right drop-off rather than quietly leaving it behind.
Cover, cost and how the visits run — the things people ask before they book.
The areas listed above run as scheduled routes, along with the streets sitting between them. Sitting on a route we already drive is why there is no travel loading on your quote. Not on the list? Ring 0800 632 723 — we work further out too, priced job by job.
Every mow includes the edging and a blow-down, so there is nothing added on afterwards. The size of the section is only the start — edge length, access and slope all move the number. Starting prices for every service are listed under Affordable Lawn & Garden Services further up, and you get a fixed price for your own property before anything is booked.
No. Those three sit in the Western Bay of Plenty District rather than Tauranga City. We run all three as scheduled routes, so the travel and the green-waste disposal are already inside the quoted number. Nothing is added afterwards for the distance.
Yes, everywhere we work. Clippings are mulched back into the lawn as standard; if you would rather they were collected, say so and they leave on the trailer at no extra charge. Bulk garden waste and shrub cut-backs are a separate job — shrubs and rubbish removal.
Weekly through December to February, fortnightly either side of that, and monthly over the coldest stretch. We move your schedule with the season rather than charging for visits the lawn has not earned. The coastal suburbs run about a fortnight ahead of the inland ones at both ends of the year.
Yes. A one-off tidy is mow, edge and clippings dealt with, priced on the property. If a section has been left a long while, a full section clean-up is usually the cheaper way in than a single rescue mow.
Both. For rentals, each visit is documented and several properties can be consolidated onto one monthly invoice by address. Commercial grounds run to a fixed annual programme with a written scope, invoiced in equal monthly instalments.
No lock-in for residential work — pause, move or cancel with reasonable notice. Commercial grounds are written as annual programmes because that is how the seasons and your budget work, and there is a straightforward exit there too.
